  Case Study: One Day History of Left Sided Paresis

Participants who successfully complete the course will be able to:

    1. Recognize the major risk factors associated with severe carotid artery disease,
    2. Examine the taped case presentation and recognize abnormal findings,
    3. Understand the physiologic changes reflected in normal and abnormal Doppler carotid signals,
    4. Recognize the importance of collateral flow via the Circle of Willis and historical development of this concept, and
    5. Understand the capabilities and limitations of carotid artery duplex imaging.
