Intracranial Collateral Pathways |
Participants who successfully complete the course will be able to:
- Recognize the major risk factors associated with severe carotid artery disease,
- Examine the taped case presentation and recognize abnormal findings,
- Understand how transcranial Doppler carotid signals can provide information regarding collateral flow patterns,
- Understand how the presence of intracranial collateralization implies hemodynamically significant extracranial disease, and,
- Understand the capabilities and limitations of the transcranial Doppler exam regarding collateral pathways.
A 10 question exam and evaluation form completes the course.
(Grade of 70% is required to receive CME credit)
