Upper Extremity Venous Examination


 
 
Case Study: Recent Onset of Swelling of Left Arm and Discoloration

Participants who successfully complete the course will be able to:

  1. Recognize the signs, symptoms and major risk factors associated with upper extremity venous thrombosis and the potentially serious consequences,
  2. Understand the physiologic changes reflected in normal venous Doppler signals,
  3. Understand upper extremity venous anatomy and be able to identify the major deep and superficial veins on duplex imaging, and
  4. Examine the taped case presentation and recognize abnormal findings.
